The University Foundation Programme (UFP) Business & Finance Foundation Pathway is an intensive one-year course designed to prepare students for a wide range of Business and Finance bachelor’s degrees.
This pathway introduces students to the key principles of commerce. In the first term, students develop essential skills in numeracy, communication, and computing. In terms two and three, students begin to specialise by choosing modules that match their chosen subject area.
Studying Business or Finance in the UK offers students a strong academic foundation and access to globally recognised qualifications. In the first term, students complete three minor modules. In terms two and three, students choose three major modules from a range of subjects, selecting those that best align with their chosen university and degree pathway.

All students must be 16 years 6 months old or more to be eligible to apply for a foundation programme.
The UFP welcomes students from a wide range of home and international educational backgrounds. We accept a variety of international qualifications, recognising the different education systems students may have studied under. All applicants are required to have completed an education level equivalent to UK GCSEs (RQF Level 2), ensuring they have a suitable academic foundation to begin the programme.
International students who require a Student Visa must provide evidence of their English language ability. This requires them to take a UKVI-approved Secure English Language Test (SELT).
