A strong foundation for business and finance careers.

Course Overview arrow

The University Foundation Programme (UFP) Business & Finance Foundation Pathway is an intensive one year foundation course, which will prepare you for a wide range of Business or Finance bachelor degrees.

The UFP Business and Finance Foundation course will educate students in the practices of commerce. Students will learn the fundamentals of numeracy, communication and computer skills in the first term. UFP students who study in London or Bath have unequalled opportunities on their doorstep and a strong UK degree in Business or Finance will equip students with the skills and experience needed to succeed in any organisation.

Teaching & Facilities arrow

The Business & Finance foundation course is continually assessed, thus removing the pressure of an end of year examination. There will be mid-term examinations throughout the course and an end-of-term examination for each module. In addition, students are required to complete coursework. We offer a university approved syllabus which fully prepares students for their undergraduate studies. Our teachers are highly qualified and are specialists in their field. The exceptional standard of education allows students to make a smooth transition to undergraduate degree level.

Exams & Assessment arrow

Students will be assessed through a combination of coursework, projects, presentations, and written examinations. Regular assignments and mock tests will help track progress and prepare students for final assessments. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical understanding and practical application to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of each student’s abilities. Feedback will be provided throughout the course to support continuous improvement and academic success.

Testimonials arrow

Coming from a different education system, applying to top UK universities felt overwhelming—until I discovered UFP. It allowed me to complete the equivalent of two years of A-Levels in just one year, making it the ideal pathway for starting my university journey in the UK.

Our teachers were highly qualified specialists who were both knowledgeable and supportive. They made complex concepts easy to understand, and their passion for teaching motivated me to work harder and aim higher.

The student support at UFP was exceptional—available throughout the day and always ready to help. I received both academic and emotional guidance during challenging times, which made a real difference in my experience. Their understanding of student needs was truly impressive.

“I really appreciate the incredibly supportive atmosphere at the University Foundation Programme, especially during the UCAS application process. I’m glad I received this support while I was making such important decisions about my future.”

“Over the past year I have become extremely confident in my chosen subject areas and I feel completely prepared to study Business at university. I would whole-heartedly recommend this course as a one year alternative to A Levels.”

“I particularly enjoyed my Quantitative Methods and Economics classes as I had the most amazing teachers. I have consistently improved since the beginning of the year and I now feel completely ready for university.”
